NEW PALTZ, N.Y. — The 138th annual Ulster County Fair kicks off Tuesday, Aug. 4, bringing six days of agricultural exhibits, midway rides and live evening entertainment to the Ulster County Fairgrounds.
The fair runs through Sunday, Aug. 9. Gates open Tuesday at 4 p.m., with operating hours running from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Midway rides open daily at 11 a.m. starting Wednesday.
This year’s musical lineup features night concerts included with general admission, highlighted by performances from the Eli Young Band and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Chubby Checker on Sunday August 9th at 5:30 p.m.
Daily attractions include racing pigs, a petting zoo, agricultural showcases and nightly fireworks.
To accommodate sensory-sensitive attendees, the fair will host Sensory Safe Hours Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., operating without lights or music prior to ride openings.
General admission includes all rides and entertainment. Unlimited ride wristbands are available for purchase on-site, priced at $20 on Wednesday and Thursday, and $30 Friday through Sunday.
